Extended Winter Pass Closure on Sonora Pass Hwy 108

Strawberry, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has extended the seasonal winter closure of eastbound State Route 108 (Sonora Pass) from Kennedy Meadows down to the Snow Park just east of Strawberry as of 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

State Route 108 (Sonora Pass) is now closed eastbound from the Snow Park (Tuolumne County) to the U.S. 395 junction in Mono County. There is currently no estimated time of opening for this stretch of State Route 108. Weather conditions on the passes, traffic safety, and subsequent road conditions are among the determining factors in the decision to make the seasonal closures.
