Arnold, CA…On Saturday, January 13th, the Calaveras County Search and Rescue Team conducted their annual navigation training. During this training, the team practiced their navigation skills using different technology levels, ranging from map and compass to cell phone-based navigation apps.
In addition, while some team members were in the field or classroom, others spent time learning how to run a mobile incident command post. The mobile command post training included instruction on setting up equipment, running communications (radios), creating team assignments, mapping, and tracking teams in the field.
