Angels Camp, CA…One Calaveras County student from each school is nominated each year to receive Every Student Succeeding (ESS) award. The Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) started the ESS program in 1996. ESS was created to honor students who have risen through challenges and adversity to succeed and shine in their academic journey. Administrators and teachers share the students’ touching stories. Calaveras County Superintendent of Schools Karen Vail, also ACSA’s Motherlode Charter President, hosted the event on Valentine’s Day this week. Vail expressed, “The students’ stories are heartwarming and a testament that they can overcome difficulties. They will continue to achieve great things.”
