Murphys, CA…Glenda Jean Hampton, age 76, of Murphys, went home to be with the Lord on Tues. April 12, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Hampton was a 50 year resident of Calaveras County, spending most of her childhood in White Pines, CA. She was a native of Oklahoma and very proud of her Cherokee Heritage.

Glenda was preceded in death by her daughter Cheryl, parents Roy and Juanita Ballard and a sister, Louise Smith. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harold Hampton of Murphys, two sons; Jim Hampton (Jill), and Troy Hampton (Allison), 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 5 sisters, and 1 brother.
