Angels Camp, CA…Christina A. O’Connor June 18, 1967 ~ March 26, 2024 (age 56). Christina Ann Shuler O’Connor was an extremely caring individual loved by everyone she encountered. She showed much compassion, strength, selflessness, and love during every second of her days. She was born on June 18th, 1967, in Hawthorne, California to her parents Ronald Dean Shuler and Linda LaRay Marcotte Shuler Lawson. She passed away surrounded by her family on March 26th, 2024, at the age of 56 in her home in Angels Camp, California after an 8-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Chris is survived by her son Dylan O’Connor, mother Linda (Bebe) Lawson, Father Ronald Dean Shuler and wife Georgia Shuler, brother Jim and wife Jennifer Shuler, stepbrother Kevin Lawson, and many extended family members whom she adored.

Christina grew up in Torrance, California, and moved to Mokelumne Hill at the age of 9. She attended Mokelumne Hill Elementary School and Calaveras High School in San Andreas, California, graduating in 1986. She was an extremely active member of 4-H, showing rabbits, horses, sheep, and chickens. She won grand champion meat pen rabbit at the California State Fair as well as many other county-level fair successes. Chris shared her passion and knowledge of horses by leading the Mokelumne Hill 4-H horse group. She attended Western Career College and followed her passion for animals by achieving her Registered Veterinary Technician certification. Chris showed a great love for animals and was employed by Angels Camp Veterinary Hospital for 38 years. Every day she showed how much she cared for her furry patients and their owners by not letting anything stop her from providing the best care possible.

Christina was married to Rodney Lee O’ Connor in 1999 who passed away on December 7th, 2017. Christina believed that she was given cancer to help other people. One of her proudest achievements was starting a non-profit organization called Giving Hope Cancer Kits, with a mission of creating and distributing cancer care packages that contained items to help make the lives of people who are fighting cancer as comfortable as possible at no cost to them. She was able to help a tremendous amount of people through their battles with cancer with the cancer kits, and more importantly by being a friend and confidant. Chris lived every second of her life helping other people and was a walking example of a kind, compassionate human being. There is going to be a Celebration of Life luncheon held at the Angels Camp Gun Club at 2403 Gun Club Road, Angels Camp, California on April 27th, 2024. A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, April 27th from 1:00 P.M. to 6:00P.M. at the Angels Gun Club at 2403 Gun Club Rd in Angels Camp, CA 95222.
