Caltrans Making Great Progress on Clearing Ebbetts Pass

Lake Alpine, CA…Caltrans is making great progress clearing Ebbetts Pass this season. Our D10 Woodfords & Camp Connell maintenance crews are only a few miles apart with their snow removal operations on State Route 4.  Last week the Woodfords Crew was able to clear SR-4 west out past Kinney Reservoir a mile over Ebbetts Pass. Our Camp Connell Crew also made great progress clearing SR-4 east up to the Pacific Creek Bridge. The crews have encountered snow depths of 8′ to 10′ ft. in locations at or near the summit but continue to clear 1-2 miles of roadway each day.

While Caltrans cannot specify the exact date Ebbetts Pass will formally reopen for the season we will continue to provide pass clearing updates weekly. The SR-4/Ebbetts Pass closure gates will remain at Lake Alpine & Raymond Meadows until the roadway is reopen to traffic.
