La Grange, CA…On May 31, 2024, at approximately 5:09pm 56-year-old Michael Keith of Stockton was driving his 2020 Chevrolet 1500 pickup northbound on Bonds Flat Road, unlawfully passing another vehicle over the double yellow centerline in excess of 100 miles per hour while approaching the T intersection with La Grange Road. Also in the vehicle were his passengers 66-year-old Donna Yarnal of Modesto and 65-year-old Cindi Schuchterman of Salida. At that same time, 33-year-old Janelle Hall of La Grange was driving her 2005 Toyota Highlander southbound on Bonds Flat Road from La Grange Road at approximately 45 miles per hour.

Due to the extreme speed of Mr. Keith’s vehicle, neither of the drivers was able to brake or make an effective evasive maneuver in time. As a result, the front of Mr. Keith’s Chevrolet hit the front of Ms. Hall’s Toyota within the southbound lane of Bonds Flat Road. Both vehicles came to rest on their wheels with their front end embedded into each other straddling the southbound lane and west shoulder of Bonds Flat Road.

All the occupants in the vehicles succumbed to their injuries at the scene. They were all wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs are a factor in this crash. The incident is still under investigation.
