Take Miss Xena Home Today!

San Andreas, CA…Meet Miss Xena a spayed female German Shepherd Dog mix, between 3 and 4 years old and weighing 77 pounds. Big, beautiful girl, beloved by Animal Services staff and volunteers. Xena was initially cautious of strangers, but she is more relaxed around them now. Still, a slow introduction is necessary. Once she has gained your trust, she is sweet and friendly and is eager to go on a walk with you! Her affectionate nature is delightful.

Xena needs a person or family with older children who will be patient with her and let her progress at her own pace. She enjoys playing ball and dipping in the pool. It’s fun to watch her cavort with her friends.
She prefers males or submissive females. She is currently rooming with Blackjack, the gorgeous black and white Husky.

A meet ’n greet is required if you have another dog.

Xena can’t wait to go home with you, and she can because she is already spayed. Come meet her!

All dogs available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter are up-to-date on their routine vaccinations and will be microchipped. All unaltered cats and dogs must be spayed or neutered before they can go home with you.

Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
