Successful Search & Rescue Mission in Tuolumne County

Sonora, CA…Beth has safely been evacuated from the area and was transported for medical care. We want to thank all the mutual aid agencies who assisted us throughout this mission! UPDATE: Thursday 5:26pm. We are very happy to announce Beth is safe and has been successfully located within the search area by search and rescue personnel. Personnel on scene are actively coordinating getting Beth safely out of the area. We will provide further updates as new information arises.

Update: Thursday 4:40pm
We are continuing to diligently search for Beth Watson. Today there are over 80 personnel on the search from over 15 agencies throughout the state. This afternoon Merle, Beth’s dog was located unharmed within the search area. We will be continuing the search today and will keep our community updated through our social media platforms as new information arises.

Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue, along with many mutual aid agencies continue to search for Beth today in the area of Lyon’s Dam. Mutual aid agencies currently consist of Contra Costa SAR, Santa Clara SAR, Marin SAR, Calaveras SAR, Amador SAR, Cal SAR & Stanislaus County helicopters. We are diligently working to find Ms. Watson and will update as new information arises.

We are asking the public’s help in locating 64-year-old Beth Watson. Beth was last seen walking with her white German shepherd in the area of Lyon’s Lake at 10:30am this morning, Tuesday August 13th.

Beth was last seen wearing green capri pants, purple shoes, sunglasses and an unknown color shirt. Beth is described as being 5’2, 150lbs, with brown hair and green eyes.
