David Wilson Ludlow, 91, of Hathaway Pines, California, passed away on September 10, 2024. Born and raised in Urbana, Ohio, David lived a life full of love, learning, and service to others. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, an experience that shaped his life and character.
David met the love of his life, Gayle, in San Francisco, and they married in 1965. Together, they raised three children in Hathaway Pines. David dedicated much of his life to teaching and spent many fulfilling years as a beloved educator at Hazel Fischer Elementary School, where he touched the lives of countless students and colleagues.
David will be remembered not only as a devoted teacher but also as a wonderful husband, a supportive and caring father, and a loyal friend. He had a deep passion for reading, hiking, traveling, and spending time with loved ones. He was known for his warm heart, contagious laughter, and his unquenchable thirst for knowledge.
David leaves behind his three daughters—Debra Angelo, Erica Anderson, and Christine Allinson—along with their families, who will forever cherish his memory. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of love, friendship, and learning will live on in those whose lives he touched.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a memorial open house in David’s honor on October 26, 2024, at 5018 Hillcrest Drive, Hathaway Pines, CA 95233 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. During this time, you are welcome to visit, share a story and take a book from his personal library as a keepsake.
