Jackson, CA…On December 26, 2024, at approximately 1722 hours, a solo Amador CHP officer was dispatched to a call for service involving a vehicle that was blocking the roadway on Old Sacramento Road east of Latrobe Road in unincorporated Amador County. Upon arrival, an officer involved shooting occurred. A firearm was located and secured. The subject succumbed to his injuries. The officer did not sustain any injuries.

The officer’s name will not be released at this time. There are no outstanding subjects.
