Mokelumne Hill, CA…Mrs. Roseann Hunt July 12, 1945 ~ January 17, 2025 (age 79). Roseann Josephine “Rosie” Hunt, born July 12, 1945, in Rochester, NY, passed away January 17, 2025, in San Andreas, California, at the age of 79. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Roseann was born to Ann Biondolillo (mother), of Avon, NY, and Gus Eritano (father), of Rochester, NY.

Roseann is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Eric Hunt of Railroad Flat, CA; her children, Jason Loe of Canton, GA, and Shanon Loe of Las Vegas, NV; and her grandchildren, Baylor and Brecken. She was preceded in death by her sibling, Peter Eritano of Mesa, AZ, and both her parents.

Roseann attended Bishop Alemany High School in Southern California before becoming a cosmetologist and cosmetology instructor. Later moving to Northern California, she began a 20+ year career with the Golden One Credit Union. Moving up into the foothills in 1988, she and Eric built their forever home on their Railroad Flat property.

The experience of developing the property drew them even closer together. In the early years on their property, she enjoyed helping with clearing and burning brush and trimming trees. She and Eric would stay close to the large burn fires and stay warm as it got colder toward dark. Rosie particularly enjoyed the deer herds that would frequently come by for “handouts.”

Working for a few years at the Squirrel’s Nest in Sutter Creek allowed Roseann to indulge her love of antiques and knickknacks. She loved the older houses in Sutter Creek. They reminded her of the houses back in Avon, NY, when she was little.

When both Roseann and Eric retired, she had more time to take day trips, work in the garden, and enjoy her favorite flowers, daffodils. She loved to walk around her trails on the property picking up pine cones to add to burn piles later, take trips up Highway 88 to picnic at Cables Lake, and spend time in peaceful places in the mountains. She enjoyed taking in the fall colors on excursions to places like the Gardnerville area in Nevada.

Whether antiquing, shopping, or working on projects on their property, Roseann and Eric functioned as a team.
Taking small day trips to nearby small towns and historical places, or staying home, keeping the wood stove going and watching favorite TV shows and movies, they worked together to build the life they wanted and create lasting friendships and strong memories.

Roseann joined dance groups and support groups through the years, traveled to Georgia to visit her granddaughters, and enjoyed working the vegetable and flower gardens. She always had an abundance of tomatoes and a few freezer bags full of home-grown blueberries. She looked forward to their small orchard harvests each year.

In the winter storms, she made sure they had plenty of supplies so they could hunker down together with a crackling fire. In warmer weather, she liked to grab snacks and drive out to find new places to explore or to revisit for picnics.

All who knew Roseann Hunt will miss her dearly. Her family and close friends honored her at a graveside service at the Independence Cemetery in Railroad Flat, CA, on January 24, 2025 at 1 p.m. If so moved, donations can be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
