West Point, CA…Roger A. Wieland February 9, 1940 ~ January 21, 2025 (age 84). On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, Roger Wieland, a loving husband and father, passed away just 19 days shy of his 85th birthday. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia, his father, Wes, and his sister, Cheryl.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Barbara Wieland, his children, Teresa (Brad), Pamela (Greg), and Mark (Christina), and his grandchildren, Justin (Melanie), JonJon, Mackenzie, Callahan, Courtney, Tanner, Sarah (Chris), and David, as well as his great-grandchild, Dino and brother, David.
Roger grew up in the East San Francisco Bay Area, where he met his wife, Barbara. He was a loyal Teamster, Local 70-truck driver, retiring at the age of 55. He was an active member of early Citizen Band Radio groups, which led him to become an Amateur Radio enthusiast. He was involved with BSA Pack and Troop 603 and Campfire Girls for many years.
For the last 25 years, he resided with his wife in West Point, CA, where he enjoyed hosting The Wieland Campground, hunting, fishing, and volunteering at the local VFW and West Point Lumberjack Day. Roger will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
