Arnold, CA…Marjorie Miller, May 18, 1938 – January 20, 2025, Margie passed away peacefully at her apartment in San Jose after a long illness. She is survived by her three sons: Scott, Tim, and David; six grandchildren; her sister Carolyn Lemon of Ontario, Canada; and nieces Margaret Roberge, Janet Lemon Williams, and Cathy Lemon.
Margie was born in New York and raised in Whittier, California. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where she began her career as a teacher. She married Jerome Fairman and raised their sons in Cupertino, California. While in Cupertino, she worked as a special education resource specialist for the Crippled Children’s Society and San Jose Unified School District and spent a stint running her own tutoring support business. She obtained a master’s degree from San Jose State University in education.
After retiring, she moved full time to the family’s mountain home in Arnold, California, spending her retirement in peace among the trees and mountains of the central Sierra. She spent the last few years in San Jose, close to her son. A celebration of life will be held on March 1, 2025, at 1 pm at the Los Gatos Lodge, 50 Los Gatos – Saratoga Road, Los Gatos, CA 95032. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Calaveras Big Trees Association, PO Box 1196, Arnold, CA 95223.
