Mrs Irene Marie James 1936 ~ 2025

Lodi, CA…Mrs Irene Marie James January 26, 1936 ~ February 21, 2025 (age 89). Irene Marie Giusto James left this earth on February 21, 2025. She will be reunited in heaven with her husband, Clyde James, her son David James and her granddaughter Lisa Johnson She was born on January 26, 1936 to Irma and Nick Giusto in Altaville, California. Irene was a special education aide with Stockton Unified School District for over 50 years. She masterfully taught her students many different arts and crafts during those years and was an extremely gifted artist. Many of those students continued to stay in touch with Irene.

She also worked at the San Joaquin County Fair for many years in the arts and crafts building. She made lifelong friends at both of those jobs. Irene and Clyde loved to collect antiques, and they proudly displayed them in their home. They owned “Got to Have It Antiques” in Manteca for several years.

Clyde and Irene enjoyed traveling. They had a map of the United States in their garage dotted with dozens of red pins showing all the places they had been to. Her gardens were beautiful, and she was very proud of her home. She had been residing at Sunnyplace Memory Care facility in Stockton for the last 2 1/2 years. The family would like to thank the owners and employees of Sunny Place for their care during this time. A special thank you to Elenor for the exceptional care and love she gave our mother while she resided at Sunny Place.

Irene leaves behind a son, Philip James (Millie) and a daughter Lori James Ramos, her two grandsons David Ramos and Jake Ramos, her granddaughter, Jenny Polhemus (Paul) and great granddaughters Natalie and Grace Polhemus. She also leaves behind her nieces Rhoda, Sue and Janai of Minnesota.

Angels Memorial Chapel will be in charge of the arrangements. She will be buried in the family plot at Old Highway 4, Altaville. There will be a private family burial. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local animal shelter.
