Burson, CA…On February 25, 2025, an investigation was initiated following a burglary that occurred in the 3000 block of Burson Road, Burson. The victim reported returning home after an overnight absence to discover their residence had been burglarized. Several items were reported stolen, with a particular emphasis on firearms and ammunition. Detectives were advised of the ongoing investigation and assisted patrol deputies by gathering video evidence and following up on investigative leads. The video evidence showed multiple suspects entering the residence and a red sedan with visible body damage used in the commission of the burglary.
The continued investigation identified Jonathon Eugene Sullivan, a 40-year-old resident of Wallace, as an additional suspect. On March 2, 2025, at about 8:00 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in San Andreas on East Saint Charles Street, taking suspects Jonathon and Serene Sullivan into custody. During a search of Suspect Jonathon Sullivan’s person, deputies discovered approximately 7 grams of suspected methamphetamine. A search of Suspect Serene Sullivan revealed a loaded revolver concealed in her clothing’s waistband. Both suspects were then transported and booked into the Calaveras County Jail. During the booking process, it was discovered that Suspect Serene had over half a pound of methamphetamine concealed in her undergarments.
On March 4, 2025, at about 8:00 AM, detectives served a search warrant at the residence of Jonathon and Serene Sullivan in the 10000 block of South Camanche Parkway. During the service of the warrant, additional evidence of narcotic sales, narcotic paraphernalia, a rifle, and ammunition were seized from the property.
In total, Suspect Jonathon Sullivan was booked on eight felony and misdemeanor charges: violation of parole, possession of a controlled substance for sale, transport of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, conspiracy, residential burglary, theft with priors, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Suspect Serene Sullivan was booked on eight felony and misdemeanor charges: possession of a controlled substance for sale, transport of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, conspiracy, residential burglary, theft with priors, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
