James “Jim” Harold Ditzler 1949 ~ 2025

Rail Road Flat, CA…James “Jim” Harold Ditzler August 2, 1949 ~ April 4, 2025 (age 75).  James H. Ditzler “Jim” was born in Van Nuys, CA., on August 02, 1949, and entered peacefully into rest on April 04, 2025, in his home in Rail Road Flat, CA. He was in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. His passions included working with wood and being outside, as well as spending time with his best friend, who is also his wife, Fern Ditzler.

Jim is survived by his wife, Fern E. Ditzler; three sons, Eugene H. Cason, Dean D. Cason, and
Jeffrey D. Lassen; and his grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Maria, Maryanna, Bri, Maritza Cason, and Iris Lassen. His Brother, Dave Ditzler, and two sisters-in-law, Sheila Havlina and Martie Ditzler. and many nieces and nephews as well. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion J. and Hayden H. Ditzler; his sisters, Lynda Cason and Carolyn Butler; and his grandchildren, Bradley and Branden Cason.

A funeral service will be held on April 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Independence Cemetery, Railroad Flat, CA. Celebration of life to follow at Laughton Ranch in Jackson, CA.

Jim will be remembered for his passion for riding his Harley-Davidson with his dog scooter
around the USA, his wife riding alongside him. Jim’s love for living and exploring new places and
spending time with friends and family will always be remembered.
