Spring Wine Weekend – April 26 & 27, 2025

Formerly known as President’s Wine Weekend, the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance moved the event to the springtime when the weather is a bit warmer, the wildflowers are blooming in the foothills, and the winegrape growers and winemakers have a little time to create some exciting experiences for you. Usually happening the last weekend in April, you can enjoy two full days of tasting award-winning Calaveras wine in downtown Murphys tasting rooms or out in a gorgeous Calaveras vineyard. Take a vineyard hike, meet local artists, chat and learn from local growers and winemakers, and enjoy special barrel tastings at select tasting rooms. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the art, history, and love of winemaking from the masters themselves!

Purchase your  advance 1-day and 2-day tickets (advance purchase gets a small discount) and tickets include a commemorative wineglass, a wristband for special tasting flights at over 20 participating tasting rooms and vineyards, all the special events, and a weekend guide and map. Advance ticketing is recommended as this event sells out fast! Tickets can be purchased online here or try to get tickets the day of the event at the Murphys Visitors & Wine Info Center in downtown Murphys located at 202 South Main Street (at the 4-way stop across from Alchemy Cafe).

Need a designated driver?  Calaveras has great options for enjoying your Spring Wine Weekend safely. Any one of the following transportation services will take care of getting you to and from your destinations while tasting award winning Calaveras County wines:

Located between Angels Camp and San Andreas, we celebrate our little airport, rain or shine, on Airport Day by showcasing small aircraft, vintage biplanes, aviation and community displays, and of course vendor and food booths! Hot Copper Car Show – May 3, 2025

In May, The Lake Tulloch Lions Club invites dozens of classic and vintage car and motorcycle owners and enthusiasts to their annual Hot Copper Car Show in May each year.  See hot rods, vintage trucks, cool motorcycles, and more!

Calaveras County Jumping Frog Jubilee – May 15-18, 2025

THIS is the mother of all Calaveras events, the Big Show, the one not to miss! One of the longest running fairs in California, the four day Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee draws participants from towns not only all around the country, but also all around the world. Located in the beautiful rolling foothills of California’s Gold Country just outside the quaint Gold Rush town of Angels Camp, the international Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee is disguised as a small town fair harkening back to a simpler era. But don’t let appearances fool ya! The Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee blends good ol’ fashioned fun with a hearty dollop of world literary history. Held the 3rd weekend in May each year (Thursday through Sunday), the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee commemorates the story that launched Mark Twain’s career, The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County.
