Mountain Ranch’s Cecilia O’Green Selected as California 4-H State Ambassador

Mountain Ranch, CA…The California 4-H Youth Development Program proudly announces the selection of Cecilia O’Geen as a 2025–2026 California 4-H State Ambassador. O’Geen joins a distinguished cohort of youth leaders dedicated to advancing 4-H’s mission of leadership, service, and education across the state.

The California 4-H State Ambassador Program recognizes exceptional 4-H members who demonstrate outstanding leadership and a commitment to community service. State Ambassadors serve as public representatives of the University of California 4-H Program, engaging in statewide initiatives, mentoring peers, and promoting 4-H values at local, state, and national events.

O’Geen’s 4-H journey began in 2019 in the Mountain Ranch 4-H community club. 4-H’s poultry leader, Amber Wood, shared, “I truly can’t imagine a person who is more deserving or who will make as big of an impact as I expect Cecilia. Being her leader has been such a rewarding… to watch her chase her goals, reach, and then turn right around to teach and inspire the younger generation following behind her.”

Cecilia’s other notable 4-H achievements include: 2022 Junior Champion team at the State Avian Bowl and 2024 Champion Senior team in Horse Bowl. Her dedication to youth leadership exemplifies the qualities celebrated by the California 4-H State Ambassador Program.

As a State Ambassador, O’Geen will embark on a 15-month term beginning May 1, 2025, during which she will develop and implement an educational platform, participate in strategic planning, and represent California 4-H at events throughout the nation. Her appointment underscores the program’s commitment to nurturing young leaders who can effect positive change within their communities and beyond.
