Jamestown, CA…On May 26, 2025, at approximately 10:00 PM, a CHP Officer made a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle, eastbound on SR 108, west of Green Springs Rd. While the officer was running driver’s license and license
plate checks, the driver of the 2025 Nissan Rogue fled eastbound on SR 108 and the officer gave chase. The
Nissan performed a U-Turn near Chicken Ranch Casino and continued to flee, going westbound on SR 108.
Additional CHP units joined the pursuit.
The suspect reached speeds well over 100 mph and crossed over double yellow lines into on-coming traffic several times. The pursuit continued onto southbound La Grange Rd. (J59) and eventually the Nissan sideswiped a 2025 Honda Accord that was traveling northbound on La Grange Rd. near Cooperstown Rd. The crash caused minor injuries to the driver of the Honda (Ozwald Hernandez – 32-year-old from Merced, CA) and the Nissan became disabled.
The suspect fled the scene on foot and an area search ensued with the assistance of Modesto CHP officers, Tuolumne County Sheriff Office (TCSO) canine unit and Stanislaus County Sheriff Office Air 101 helicopter.
The suspect was not located at the time but has been identified and the investigation continues.
