Jerry Allen Haynes 1942 – 2025

Valley Springs, CA…Jerry Allen Haynes was born in Sacramento, California on November 8, 1942. Jerry graduated from Sacramento High School and attended Sacramento City College, where he studied Aircraft Maintenance. He applied the skills he learned in college while proudly serving his country, enlisting in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

When he returned home from his service, he went on to further his education and become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. After graduating, He worked as an LVN for Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento for over 20 years. After losing his beloved wife, Sheila, in 1999, Jerry retired to Calaveras County where he spent the rest of his days.

Jerry loved horseback riding, sailing, fishing and operating a ham radio. He also held a private pilot’s license and he was never happier than when he could enjoy the freedom of flying a plane.

Jerry is survived by his brother, David, sisters, Chris and Sherry, friend and companion, Phyllis, along with many family members and friends. He will be missed dearly. Harry A. Nauman and Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the Haynes family.

A graveside service with military funeral honors will be held on June 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Camellia Memorial Lawn. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Jerry’s honor to Glory Bound Fellowship in Valley Springs, CA.
