Murphys, CA – The beloved community fundraiser Chicken in a Barrel is back on Saturday, June 7 from 12–5 PM at Murphys Community Park —and it’s shaping up to be our biggest event yet! All proceeds support the students of Albert Michelson Elementary School , and the entire community is invited to come out, enjoy a delicious meal, and have a blast while supporting local students.

Meal tickets are on sale now online and in person at the Murphys Pourhouse —and they’re going fast! This year, we’re thrilled to offer our classic barrel-roasted chicken meals AND, for the first time ever, Lockeford Sausage meals . These mouthwatering meals are a must-try, and all proceeds benefit vital school programs.

The fun kicks off early with our online auction , going live Friday, May 23 and closing Friday, June 6 . The auction is packed with incredible, locally donated items from generous businesses throughout the community. Don’t miss your chance to score some amazing finds while supporting our school!

The event itself will be full of family-friendly fun, including:
● Bounce houses and a giant water slide
● Ebbetts Pass Cornhole tournaments for kids and adults
● Live music, beer & local wine ● Raffle prizes , a dunk tank with fun community guests
● And new this year — Lucky Cluck Squares , a hilarious live-chicken game with prizes!
