San Andreas, CA…CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in gathering information related to recent fires in the Moccasin area. The fires of interest occurred on June 22, 2025 at approximately 6:50 PM, on westbound Highway 120 between Highway 49 and Jacksonville Road.

CAL FIRE law enforcement is seeking information related to a vehicle described as a lifted, black colored pickup truck, of an unknown make and model. The pickup stopped in the westbound lane of Highway 120 and an occupant removed items from the bed of the pickup, placing them onto the highway. The vehicle then proceeded west on Highway 120 approximately 200 feet, stopped again, and dumped additional items.

The above information was quickly reported to CAL FIRE and local law enforcement, prompting an active investigation. Any information from community members and visitors could be crucial to understanding the circumstances surrounding the events. We are urging anyone who witnessed these events to come forward. Your observations, no matter how seemingly insignificant, could be vital to our investigation.
