San Andreas, CA…Well what a day it has been so far. Early morning lightning strikes created havoc and destruction for the rest of the day. CAL FIRE is reporting 7,711 Acres burned today. The largest portion of the complex fire is basically from Chinese Camp all the way to Don Pedro at now 4,000 acres. The second largest is near Copperopolis at near 1,000 acres. The portion near Vallecito which burned towards Murphys is around 6oo acres at last report and it closed Hwy 4 between Vallecito & Murphys. The eerie photo below was taken over the Murphys area fire a few minutes ago.
One bit of scanner traffic from the Chinese Camp/Don Pedro area was of a firefighter working on a structure threat and they were out of water to stay in the fight. Hats off to all of those working these fires and Thank You!!
