Sweetie Really Should be Your Sweetie for the Holidays!

Meet Sweetie (A059773), a 2-year-old female Boxer/Bulldog mix, about 73 pounds of charm, strength, and heart.
When Sweetie arrived at the shelter after being found wandering near Cement Bridge on Highway 49, staff couldn’t imagine how anyone could let her go. With her soft, velvety coat, soulful eyes, and wonderfully smooshy face, she seems made for cuddles—and she’s happy to prove it, leaning in close for scritches and gentle affection from anyone who offers.

True to her name, Sweetie is a loving, joyful girl who greets everyone like a friend. She’s playful but polite, smart, and eager to please. She knows basic commands like sit, down, and stay, and she’s quick to show off those skills—especially if there’s a treat involved. She even enjoys a good game of fetch and hops onto rocks and benches on command, delighting her volunteer trainers.

Sweetie’s easygoing temperament and affectionate nature make her a shelter favorite. While she’s strong and occasionally pulls when she catches an intriguing scent, she walks well on leash and responds beautifully to guidance. She’s tidy in her kennel and seems to understand the basics of housetraining, though she’ll need a little time and patience to adjust to home life again.

Sweetie’s resilience and happy spirit shine through despite her uncertain past. Whoever adopts this special girl will gain a loyal, affectionate companion ready to fill their home with joy and laughter.
