Sonora, CA…As part of a deferred maintenance program, Beardsley Road on the Summit Ranger District, east of the community of Strawberry, Stanislaus National Forest (STF) will receive a facelift in June. The Beardsley Road project stretches from Hwy 108 to Beardsley Dam on Beardsley Road (Forest Road 5N02); forest travelers should expect delays in the project area.
This road maintenance project is designed to help extend the useful life of the existing pavement. Chip sealing begins June 7 and will last through June 16, with road striping beginning the week of June 27.
This will be an active construction site. Visitors are advised to pay attention to roadway signs. Please drive cautiously through the construction zone, be alert to the possibility of loose gravel or oil on the roadway, and slow down when approaching traffic controllers.
