Valley Springs, CA…Robert “Bob” Dale Bucy, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, California. He was 81 years old.
Born on December 31, 1943, to proud parents Dorothy and Allen Bucy in Akron, Ohio, Bob grew up with a love of family, country, and football — passions that stayed with him throughout his life. He graduated from high school in Ohio before proudly enlisting in the United States Air Force, serving from 1961 to 1965 and completing a tour in Vietnam.
After his military service, Bob embarked on a long and successful career as an aviation mechanic with United Airlines, where he worked for 38 years. Known for his incredible skill and problem-solving ability, Bob truly could fix anything.
A man of many interests, Bob enjoyed electronics, model railroading, and creating laser-printed jewelry. He was an active member of the Valley Springs Boosters and a valued part of his community. In his later years, he discovered a love for cooking—often outshining his wife in the kitchen—and delighted in experimenting with new recipes.
Bob’s sense of humor, warmth, and selflessness endeared him to everyone who knew him. He loved music, cherished his pets, and never missed a chance to cheer (and occasionally yell) at the TV during a good football game.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Bucy; his son, Douglas Bucy; granddaughters Madison Nicholson and Morgan Bucy; and great-granddaughter Norah Nicholson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Allen Bucy, and his brother, Richard N. Bucy.
Bob’s life was defined by love, laughter, and service. The world was truly better with him in it, and he will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
