Valley Springs, CA…Yesterday, our office responded to a minor injury traffic collision on Pettinger Rd and Messing Rd in Valley Springs. The party at fault failed to stop for the stop sign and collided with another vehicle in the intersection. This stop sign was erected last year due to the limited visibility in the intersection.

This morning, the Officer that investigated that collision targeted his enforcement at that intersection and issued 5 citations in 1 1/2 hours for failing to stop at the stop sign. He related that each person issued a citation did not even come close to stopping, adding that the slowest one went through at 20 miles per hour.

Stop signs are not erected for the fun of it, they are put up for a specific reason and your vehicle must come to a complete stop before proceeding.
