Bear Valley, CA…We are pleased to reopen today for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and tubing. The much anticipated multi-day storm, which lacked gusto during the first couple of days, finally delivered a healthy dose of fresh snow yesterday. We are still taking measurements and will update snow totals later this morning.
This morning, the snowcat drivers are focusing on reopening trails that were available before the storm. Afterward, they will work on opening new trails, but there is still a tremendous amount of water in the meadow and trail system. Time is the key factor to let the water find its way to the Stanislaus River. We also purchased a new high-powered water pump yesterday to help with the process. More on that later 😉
