Chinese Camp, CA…Final Update: Deputies have been released from the scene and all evacuations have been lifted. Additionally, responding crews were able to determine the explosion was due to a transformer and the location of the explosion was later determined to be at Engie, a facility neighboring the Ultrapower facility.

Deputies and fire personnel are on scene in the area of Pacific Ultrapower near Chinese Camp after responding for a report of a lithium ion battery explosion.

Upon arrival deputies conducted localized evacuations of the plant.

There are no road closures or additional evacuations but please avoid the area if able, as there is a large presence of emergency responders working.
