Bear Valley, CA…Hey Good People! Sunday arrives with clear skies overnight and a cool morning temp of 31F in the village at 5am. A mostly sunny sky today with a high of 39F and continued ENE winds in the mid to low teens will be in effect so it’s a prime day to get out and ski, ride, snomo and more!
The high pressure ridging currently in place over the West Coast will dominate the weather pattern for at least the next 7-10days and bring sunny skies and gradually warming temps as we head into the new week.
Not much more to say about the coming weather so let’s talk conditions……
Groomers are in great shape as the cold snow on the backside of the recent system left great snow for all grooming operations, whether at the BVAC Nordic Center or at BVMR for downhill skiing and riding. It’s what we call HERO Grooming, hard to get it to come out wrong.
Soft snow skiing and riding is also still really good depending on aspect choice, so sticking to NW,N, ENE aspects will most likely give way to great POW riding and the Southern aspects have begun to feel the Suns influence with settling, a heavier dense snow product, some refreezing as well as some wind slab formations from the last 3 days of ENE winds. Up higher off the pass as you gain elevation some slight differences will be felt so do yourselves a favor and head to the S.A.C. site and check out the BC forecasts for weather and avalanche hazards to help set you up for success if traveling into the side or true backcountry conditions.
As always, ask questions here if needed(happy to help with answers) and enjoy what we call up here, Pure Mtn Fun!
Peace Out,
Mattly Trent
