Avery, CA…Mrs. Mary “Betty” E. Cyr November 23, 1937 ~ January 18, 2026 (age 88).   Mary Elizabeth Cyr (Betty) November 23rd, 1937 – January 18th, 2026.  Mary Elizabeth Cyr (Betty), age 88, passed away peacefully in her own home on January 18, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

 

Born on November 23, 1937, Mary lived a life defined by love, strength, and devotion to her family.  Mary was the matriarch of her family, the steady foundation that held generations together.   Her love was unconditional, her presence comforting, and her strength unwavering.

She carried deep wisdom and a nurturing spirit that made everyone feel safe, welcomed, and deeply loved. Her home was a place of warmth, and her guidance shaped the lives of all who came after her.

Mary is survived by her two children, Jon Kevin Cyr and Maria Michelle Cyr; her siblings, Theresa Hardy, Johnny
Hurley, and Bridgette Sheppard; and her cherished grandchildren: Rene Lynn Murphy, Jessica Lynn Cyr, Reginald Michael Cyr and his spouse Kate Cyr, Katherine Rose Turrieta and her spouse Manuel Turrieta, and Christopher Michael Lee and his spouse Treanna Dearrillaga, Esmeralda Raquel Robles, Alberto Fernando Robles and Mario Fernando Robles. Mary was a proud and devoted great-grandmother to Kameron and Kaiden Murphy, Karsyn and Kaleb Cyr, and Trinity, David and Reginald Brannon, each of whom brought her immense joy.

A funeral service will be held on January 31, 2026, at Our Lady of the Sierras Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Mary’s life, faith, and enduring legacy.

Though she will be deeply missed, Mary’s love and spirit will live on through the generations she held together so fiercely and so lovingly.
