Be a Big Tipper & Make Tipper Part of Your Family Today!

San Andreas, CA…Tipper: female Pit Bull / Border Collie mix, 1 year old, 42 pounds. Tipper is a young mixed-breed dog who has been quietly building confidence during her time at Calaveras County Animal Services. She arrived as part of a small group of related dogs who had limited positive experiences early in life, and she needed extra time to feel comfortable in a new environment. With patience and gentle handling from staff and volunteers, Tipper has made steady, encouraging progress.

This sensitive girl is affectionate once she feels safe and forms strong bonds with the people she trusts. She enjoys calm attention, leans in for reassurance, and responds best to a gentle, predictable approach. While she may be reserved at first, her sweet nature shines through as she relaxes.

Tipper is polite on leash and walks quietly, though sudden loud noises can still startle her. She takes comfort in the presence of other dogs and has gotten along well with every dog she has met at the shelter, often seeming more at ease when she has a canine companion nearby. A home with a friendly dog may help her continue to grow in confidence.

Tipper would do best in a patient home ready to help a thoughtful young dog continue learning that the world is a safe place. With time, consistency, and kindness, she has the potential to become a deeply loyal and loving companion.
