CHP Says Don’t Drink & Drive! DUI Checkpoint in Amador County February 27th!

Jackson, CA…”The California Highway Patrol will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, February 27th” Lieutenant King, CHP Amador Area Commander, said today. The checkpoint will be located on SR-49 within the city limits of Jackson.

The sobriety checkpoint will be staffed by officers from the California Highway Patrol who are trained in the detection of alcohol and/or drug impaired drivers. “Each year members of our community are needlessly injured or killed on our roads.

Our goal is to ensure the safe passage of each motorist by targeting roads where there is a high frequency of impaired driving. A sobriety checkpoint is an effective tool for achieving this goal and is designed to augment existing patrol operations.

By publicizing our efforts, we believe we can deter motorists from drinking and driving,” said Lieutenant King. Lieutenant King also emphasized, “traffic volume permitting, all vehicles will be checked and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs can expect to be arrested.

Our objective is to send a clear message to those considering mixing alcohol or drugs with driving.”

REMEMBER, DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE!
