Murphys, CA…Garry G. Petts, a long-time resident of Murphys, California, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026. Born in August 1940, he lived in Murphys for over 70 years and was a well-known figure in the local logging and excavation industry for more than five decades, frequently operating his own business. He Attended Calaveras High. Garry was a devoted family man who loved all his children equally and took great pride in providing for them.

He is proceeded in death by his Parents Warren and Margaret (Haase) Petts as well as his brother Marvin Petts And his Wife Sandy (Houdeshell) Petts whom he loved more then life itself. He is survived by his Sons Clifford Petts, James (jimmy) Petts wife Becky, Steven Onosa’I Sataua, and David (Eben) Petts and his Grandchildren Chelsea Ormond,
Evelyn Petts, Destiny Petts and Ethan Petts as well as a Great granddaughter Nayeli Petts
