San Andreas, CA…Meet Birdie (A060498), a female Pit Bull/Labrador Retriever mix, about 7 months old and weighing 30 pounds. Birdie is a sweet young dog with a sleek dark coat and bright, expressive eyes. She was found straying near Birds Way in Angels Camp, which inspired her cheerful name. At just seven months old, she still has plenty of puppy enthusiasm, but her affectionate nature quickly wins people over.
Birdie loves meeting people and greets most everyone with happy excitement. She may pause for a brief moment when meeting someone new, but her curiosity and trust quickly take over, and she’s soon ready for attention and affection. With her gentle temperament and warm eye contact, she forms quick bonds with the people around her.
Around other dogs, Birdie is friendly and interested, often approaching them with playful curiosity. She can be a little cautious at first with larger dogs, but with calm introductions she relaxes and settles into her happy, social self.
Birdie is learning leash walking and responds well to her handler, especially when treats are involved. She enjoys training and is eager to please, making her a great candidate for continued learning as she grows. With her loving personality and youthful energy, Birdie has wonderful potential to become a devoted companion or beloved family dog.
