Legends Return to Frogtown®: Marty Davis & Legends of the Pioneers Bring Americana to Life

Angels Camp, CA…(Frogtown, USA)…The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee is proud to welcome back Marty Davis & Legends of the Pioneers, a one-of-a-kind musical experience celebrating the rich heritage of the American West.

Blending nostalgia, storytelling, and world-class musicianship, Legends of the Pioneers showcases Marty Davis and his signature Americana style in a fun, family-friendly performance. Complete with stunning, authentic costumes by the world-famous Nudie’s Rodeo Tailors, the show transports audiences through time with songs and stories that define the cowboy spirit.

From the silver screen cowboys like Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Rex Allen, and the Sons of the Pioneers, to real-life rodeo legends and modern icons such as Chris LeDoux and Ian Tyson, the performance honors the enduring legacy of Western culture. Audiences will also enjoy a journey through classic country and Grand Ole Opry favorites, featuring tributes to legends like Marty Robbins, Faron Young, Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, and George Jones. The show even tips its hat to Bob Wills’ Western Swing and early rock and roll—reflecting Marty’s own career performing with the legendary 1950s group The Diamonds (“Little Darlin’,” 22 million records sold).

Known for his warm, engaging style and rich vocals, Marty creates an experience often described as “like listening to a long-time friend in your living room—energetic yet relaxing,” with songs that bring back cherished memories.

Flexible in format, the performance can feature a full band, duo, or solo act, and is adaptable from 45 to 90 minutes—making it a perfect fit as a featured attraction, opening act, or free community show. Marty also lends his talents as an emcee and is honored to perform the National Anthem for rodeos and special events.

“There is something for everyone—American western history in a colorful, entertaining format,” said Laurie Giannini, CEO/ Fair Manager of the Calaveras County Fair. “The legends remind us of our heritage, when days were hard but simple at the same time.”

Legends of the Pioneers will perform throughout the fair on the Lawn Stage, Ranch House, and Main Stage, offering multiple opportunities for guests to enjoy this unforgettable celebration of Western music and culture.
