San Andreas, CA…At approximately 08:30 a.m., deputies with the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office responded to Calaveras High School following a report of a possible threat to the campus.
Out of an abundance of caution, multiple units were immediately dispatched to the campus to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the surrounding community.
Upon arrival, deputies worked closely with school administrators to secure the campus and assess the situation. At this time, it appears to have originated from an off-site location. Deputies will remain on scene as the investigation continues to ensure a thorough and careful response.
We understand situations like this can cause concern for families and the community. Please know that the safety of our schools is our highest priority, and every report of this nature is taken seriously and investigated fully.
We ask the public to avoid the area while deputies are conducting their investigation.
