National Correctional Officers Week

San Andreas, CA…As a result of a Presidential Proclamation in 1984, the first week in May has been set aside to recognize the work and sacrifices of America’s Correctional Officers.

Correctional work is one of the most demanding and complex roles in law enforcement, requiring constant vigilance, professionalism, and the ability to manage difficult situations with fairness and integrity. These men and women serve on the front lines in our facilities, maintaining order, ensuring safety, and supporting the rehabilitation process.

This week, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office proudly recognizes the dedication, professionalism, and hard work of our Correctional Officers and all detention personnel serving within our facilities. Your commitment to safety, accountability, and service does not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for everything you do each day.

Thank you for your continued commitment to your profession and to the mission of this office. This is truly a team effort, and we could not accomplish it without you. We also recognize the quiet, constant sacrifice you make, missing holidays, birthdays, and time with loved ones, so that others can be safe and secure.

To our very own Correctional Officers and those serving across the nation, thank you for your service and sacrifice.
