Joe Peixotto 1975 – 2026

Vallecito, CA…Joe Peixotto was born in Castro Valley, California, on September 30, 1975. He passed away tragically at his home in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 12, 2026.

Joe moved with his family to Vallecito, California, in 1982. He attended Michaelson Elementary School and wrestled with AMA as a JR bullfrog and later graduated from Bret Harte High School, where he was a standout championship wrestler all four years.

The greatest joy of Joe’s life was being a dad. They loved traveling, camping, boating, fishing and cooking BBQ down at the pool. Joe never missed an opportunity to cheer his son Devin on at his many sporting events and would have been incredibly proud to see him graduate with honors from 8th grade on May 20.

Joe leaves behind a legacy of compassion, loyalty, and unconditional love for his family and friends. He had a gift for lighting up any room he walked into—his humor, laughter, and larger‑than‑life personality made him unforgettable. He was the funniest person many of us will ever know, famous for his big bear hugs and his signature headlock. He was also a devoted, lifelong 49ers fan.

Always ready for the next adventure, Joe traveled the world and made friends wherever he went. He fiercely protected the people he loved yet carried a gentle and kind heart. If you were Joe’s friend, you were his friend for life. He stayed connected, showed up when it mattered, and helped anyone in need without hesitation. His loss came far too soon, and he will be missed forever.

Joe is survived by his son, Devin Peixotto of Phoenix, AZ; his parents, Barry and Joan Peixotto of Vallecito, CA; his sisters Lauri Peixotto Myers (Travis), Sandy Peixotto Suitor (Chris), and Brandy Beckner (Terry); and his brother Marcos Peixotto. He is also survived by nieces Jessica Day (Austin) and Julia Lamica (Nate); nephews Nick Diebold (Nicole), Marcos and Jesse Peixotto, Nick Gonzales, and Dylan Beckner; nine great‑nephews and two great‑nieces. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Elmer and Vivian Peixotto, his aunt Sandra Sykes, and his brother‑in‑law Eric Hughes.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held in Phoenix, AZ, on June 20, and in Vallecito, CA, on July 25.
