Calaveras County, CA…Caltrans District 10 and Clean California are partnering with Calaveras County to hold a series of FREE RECYCLING EVENTS for area residents.

Free Recycling Event Dates/Locations:June 13, 2026, at Copperopolis Community Center, 695 Main St, Copperopolis
June 20, 2026, at Jenny Lind Memorial Park, 610 Daphne St, Valley Springs
June 27, 2026, at Hazel Fischer School, 1605 Blagen Rd, Arnold
July 11, 2026, at West Point Elementary School, 54 Bald Mountain Rd, West Point
July 18, 2026, at Calaveras County Government Center, 891 Mountain Ranch Rd., San Andreas
July 25, 2026, at Calaveras County Fairgrounds, 2465 Gunclub Rd, Angels Camp

The Free Recycling Events will accept the following:Appliances, E-Waste (computers, televisions, monitors, video games, microwave & ovens), Mattresses (limited to 5 per vehicle), and Tires (Passenger & Light Truck ONLY limited to 9 per vehicle)

Items NOT accepted at this event:Household trash, hazardous waste (paints, oils, treated lumber, other chemicals), diesel/tractor tires, green/yard waste, bulky items (old furniture, chairs, tables, etc.), and concrete and demolition materials

Caltrans reminds motorists to properly secure and tarp all cargo loads prior to driving.
Transporting unsecured loads is unsafe, illegal, and pollutes California’s roads and waterways. Loads that are not tied down/secured by tarps/nets or enclosed will not be accepted.Tips for securing your load:Completely cover loads with tarps or cargo nets. Debris can escape from gaps.

Remove loose material and trash before driving.

Don’t overload; keep materials level with your truck bed.

Put light items lower, tie large items to the vehicle for traffic safety.
