San Andreas, CA….The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services (OES) is continuing to monitor the Gann Fire, which originated near Hogan Dam Road and Gann Road, south of New Hogan Lake.

Our priorities remain the same: working together through Unified Command with CAL FIRE, local fire departments, and our emergency response partners to protect lives, property, and our community’s safety. Additional state and local partners have been requested to assist with this incident.

As of approximately 10:59 A.M., the fire is estimated at approximately 3,759 acres and is actively burning toward the 2020 Walker Fire burn scar.

There is an updated evacuation zone (CCU-130-B), which is also reflected in Genasys:

Evacuation Center:

This evacuation center is available for displaced residents and their domesticated animals. Volunteers with the American Red Cross are on scene providing assistance.

• The Amador County Sheriff’s Office is assisting with livestock evacuation and transportation in partnership with OES. If you need assistance with transporting livestock, please contact 209-419-2000. The address where livestock will be taken is Laughton Ranch, located at 90 Clinton Road in Jackson. We sincerely thank the Amador County personnel for their assistance during this time.

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office urges all residents to remain prepared and to follow evacuation orders and instructions from emergency personnel.

We also remind anyone currently in an affected zone, including those using day-use areas or fishing along shorelines, to leave immediately. Please use extreme caution when entering or exiting affected zones, as fire personnel, emergency responders, and equipment continue operating in these areas.
