Gann Fire as Burned Through 6,500 Acres of Calaveras County

San Andreas, CA…The latest from CAL-FIRE TCU on the Gann Fire. “The fire is now at 6,495 acres. CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 6 has been assigned to the Gann Fire in Calaveras County to support the CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit and ongoing suppression efforts. Firefighters are faced with hot temperatures and steep terrain. The fire is currently burning Northeast of Copperopolis and West of Pool Station Road. Fuel, topography and light winds are contributing to the fire’s spread.
