Alpine County, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform the following highway traffic controls and lane closures on State Route 4 (SR-4) / Ebbetts Pass for construction work next week in Alpine County. Work will occur as follows:

STATE ROUTE 4
• Full highway closure at Kinney Creek for drainage work on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. CANCELLATION
• Full highway closure from Kinney Creek to Upper Cascade Creek for drainage work on Monday, August 10, from 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. CANCELLATION
• Full highway closure near Raymond Meadows for drainage work on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Full highway closure from Kinney Creek to Upper Cascade Creek for drainage work on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CANCELLATION
• One-way traffic control at Silver Creek for drainage work on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
• One-way traffic control from the Alpine/Calaveras County Line to Lodgepole Campground for drainage work on Tuesday, August 11, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., and on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• One-way traffic control from Bear Valley to the Alpine Ranger Station for drainage work on Tuesday, August 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• One-way traffic control from the Alpine Ranger Station to Lake Alpine for drainage work on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. This work is scheduled to take place as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or construction related issues.
