Mrs. Kara Lea Blevins 1966 ~ 2026

Murphys, CA…Mrs. Kara Lea Blevins June 16, 1966 ~ August 19, 2026 (age 60).  Kara Lea Blevins, (Richardson) passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 19th, 2026. Kara was born in Kingsport Tennessee. She is survived by her husband/partner of 13 years, Scott Blevins, her parents Glenn and Delores Richardson. Her brother, Glenn (Butch) Richardson, sister in law, Roxanne Richardson, sister Christi Schimpke, brother in law Dan Schimpke, along with her children Brenton Crose and Camren Crose. Her step children, Derek Blevins and Desiree Olive, combined with her 6 grandchildren, Nikos Olive, Tegan Olive, Atlas Olive, Redford Olive, and Taylor and Charlie Blevins.

She endured a 22 month long battle with cancer and fought courageously, every step of the way, becoming a Pioneer woman with the testing of a new pancreatic cancer study drug through the University of San Francisco. Paving the way for others to benefit from these results and future FDA drug approval.

She was a special person, always happy, smiling and thinking how she could help others, saying, “Can I get you anything?” She was the ultimate hostess. Kara was an esthetician, the profession of ultimate skin care for others. She enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, always coming up with her own secret recipes. Golfing with friends from Spring Creek and Greenhorn Creek golf courses. She just recently celebrated her 60th birthday with a backyard party with 75 family and friends. Traveling was always looked forward to, going to Mexico, Canada, Tahiti/Bora Bora, Florida, the Caribbean, Georgia and Tennessee. Kara will be sorely missed by all that came to know her, her sweet smile and spirit will always be with us. May she rest in peace with the Lord, until we meet again. May God bless her.

Kara’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Vine and Branch Fellowship church, 3710 Whittle Rd. Angels Camp, Ca. on Saturday, Sept. 12th beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a catered lunch reception immediately afterwards. Her final resting place will be at the Buena Vista cemetery in Murphys Ca. overlooking the Sierra Nevada foothills and the village of Murphys.
