One-Way Traffic Control and Full Highway Closure Next Week

Calaveras County, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Route 4 (SR-4), SR-12, SR-26, and SR-49 in Calaveras County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

STATE ROUTE 4

Highway traffic break from Ponderosa to Angels Road for utility work on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

One-way traffic control from Ponderosa to Angels Road for utility work on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

STATE ROUTE 12

One-way traffic control from Burson Road to Evans Road for utility work on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

STATE ROUTE 26

Long-term full highway closure at the West Side of SR-26/49 Intersection from Main Street to SR-49 for highway construction work beginning Monday, August 24, at 7:00 a.m. through Monday, November 9, 2026, at 7:00 a.m.

One-way traffic control from Ealey Road to Barney Way for tree work beginning Monday, September 14, through Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

One-way traffic control from Alabama Hill to Ridge Road for tree work beginning Tuesday, September 15, through Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

One-way traffic control from Rich Gulch Lane to Lower Dorray Road for utility work beginning Tuesday, September 15, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

STATE ROUTE 49

Overnight conventional highway lane closure from South Bret Harte to Copello Drive for pavement work beginning Sunday, September 13, through Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Conventional highway lane closure from SR-12 to the Calaveras/Amador County Line for tree work beginning Sunday, September 13, through Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Conventional highway shoulder closure from the Calaveras/Amador County Line to the Vista Point at New Melones Reservoir for survey work beginning Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Overnight conventional highway shoulder closure from Angels road to Treat Avenue for utility work beginning Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Highway traffic break from Birds Way to Raspberry Lane for sing/banner work on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5-10 minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible.
This work is scheduled to take place as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or construction related issues.
