San Andreas, CA…Leona M. “Nonie” Winchell was born on November 2, 1929 and passed away unexpectedly on June 14th, 2016. Nonie was the daughter of Dean and Verna James and was a longtime resident of Calaveras County. Nonie was preceded in death by her husband Herman Winchell, brother Grant Davis, sisters Jean Moreland and Margery Mathews. She is survived by her daughter Deborah and son-in-law Steven Stokes, nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends, and her cats Porker and Blackie.

She was a selfless person and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held Saturday, July 2nd, 2016, at 1:00pm at the San Andreas Memorial Chapel. A reception will be held immediately following at the Pickle Patch Deli and Garden.

Nonie loved children and animals. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Judes’s Children’s Hospital or an animal shelter of your choice.
