Calaveras Humane Society Says Thank You To Girl Scout Junior Troop 60116 and Montclaire Elementary School!

San Andreas, CA…Junior Troop 60116, a girl scout troop in Los Altos, chose the Butte Fire victims for their community service project this year. They researched our county and chose to help Resource Connection and The Calaveras Humane Society. They put bins in their school, Montclaire Elementary, and asked for donations.

CHS sent them photos of the county shelter during the fire and they used it for a presentation at school. We told them CHS would deliver whatever pet supplies they collected to the Mountain Ranch Resource Alliance Food Bank. (That’s a stand-alone organization, not part of Resource Connection.)

The girls collected many bags of people food, pet food and toys, and supplies – all brand new! Today, Mia Pytel and her mom, Diane Pytel, who is also the troop leader, drove up to deliver to Resource Connection and to the Calaveras Humane Society. Anne Ellis and Henning Schreiber gave them a short tour of the Animal Services shelter, while they were here.

Calaveras Humane Society would like to thank the nine members of Junior Troop 60116 and the students at Montclaire Elementary for their generous support of the Butte Fire victims, their pets, and Calaveras County.
