Blues & BBQ16

Mokelumne Hill, CA…The Historic Hotel Leger’s third season of their food and music series, “Backyard Blues ‘n’ BBQ” is underway! There are 14 outstanding Blues bands from the region that will be performing live in the Hotel’s outdoor Pool Courtyard every Sunday afternoon from May 29 through September 4. This year’s performers include several new acts that have not performed in prior years, all of whom have outstanding reputations in the Bay Area and Sacramento region. The lineup also includes the first Grammy-nominated artist, Texas bluesman Randy Macallister, who will be winding up his West Coast tour at the Historic Hotel Leger on Sunday, July 17.

Also featured is a tasty selection of house-made BBQ, side dishes and desserts prepared by the onsite Whitewater Grill & Saloon, and available for purchase. BBQ standards including smoked pulled pork, tri-tip, and chicken are available along with their own house-made beans, potato salad and cole slaw. Other weekly specials are also offered such as the Whiskey Smoked Baby Back Ribs, Jamaican Jerk Chicken Wing Skewer, and Smoked Beef Brisket. Finish off your meal with one of our house-made desserts including our house specialty Blueberry-Pecan Bread Pudding with Maple Vanilla Bourbon Sauce, Strawberry Shortcake, Peach Cobbler or Southern Pecan Pie – all available a la mode with a scoop of our house-made ice creams – selections vary weekly.

The Pool Courtyard is cool and refreshing in the Sacramento Delta summer heat, with shade from the three 150-year old orange trees and the swimming pool – bring your swim suit – day pass for pool use is included in the low $5 admission price! And to satisfy your thirst, a wide selection of bottled and draft beers and quenching cocktails are available from the full bar.

Mokelumne Hill is conveniently located at the intersection of CA-49 and CA-26 in the Sierra Foothills, and easy 45-minute drive from Stockton/Lodi, a short hour from the Sacramento-Roseville corridor, and well worth the 2-3 hour drive from the Bay Area for a day of great music and food in the California Gold Country!

Food service starts at 12 Noon, and music is from 1pm to 4pm.
