WWII Veteran Berle Gayland Carroll 1926 – 2016

Wilseyville, CA…Berle Gayland Carroll passed away at home of Congestive Heart Failure, surrounded by family on July 17, 2016. Berle was born in Goodlet, Tx on July 19, 1926, 15 minutes before his twin brother, Gerald, to Franklin Coleman and Janie Eudera (Montgomery) Carroll. Berle served our country proudly in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was stationed in Alaska from August 1944 through December 1946.

After his discharge, Berle went to school to become a Hydraulic Machinist. He was hired by Rucker Manufacturing in 1951 and stayed for 28 years. He also worked for Robertson & Schwartz followed by J & H Manufacturing and continued with them until his retirement in 1993.

In 1993 he and Gail moved to their dream property in Calaveras County where they lived until 2001. From there they moved to their charming little home in Wilseyville.

Berle is survived by his wife of 69 years, Abbiegail, sister Christine Baker, brother Ted Carroll, daughters Angella McDaniel (Michael), Berlene Horne, Christine Miller (Timothy) and son, Franklin Carroll. He also leaves behind 12 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-great grandchild.

Berle is preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Coleman Carroll and Janie Eudera (Montgomery) Carroll, and his identical twin, Gerald Wayland Carroll, and Granddaughter, Jennifer Marie Carroll.

Memorial Services will be held on August 27, 2016 at Rail Road Flat Community Bible Church, 56 Ridge Road, Rail Road Flat, CA at 1:00pm.
